Show Full Directory Path in Mac OS X Finder Window Title Bars

Written by Randy on . Posted in Apple, Randy's Blog, Tech, Tech Tip, Tip of the Day

This is a very simple trick so that you can display the Path in the title bar on a Mac running OS X.  It’s a feature I sorely miss from Windows.  The Mac defaults to showing you just the folder you’re in.  Not as useful as it could be.      Read the tim on OSXDaily by clicking below.

defaults write com.apple.finder _FXShowPosixPathInTitle -bool YES via Show Full Directory Path in Mac OS X Finder Window Title Bars.

If you’re a PC user and have switched to Mac, you may be used to tabbing through fields including moving to checkboxes.  Mac has this feature too, but it’s for some reason disabled by default. Just open System Preferences and choose Keyboard.  At the bottom you will see the option for Tab to move focus between:  Choose “All controls”.

Keyboard Tab to Move

You can optionally change this setting by pressing Control+F7.

On an Apple computer using Safari you can goto your Bookmarked Pages by Pressing Command and the Number that corrosponds to it’s position in your favorites bar. Safari Favorites Bar In my case www.idez.com would be COMMAND 4.  Try it on yours.
